The tour begins at 10:55 am at the office. At 11:10 am, you will depart in a group vehicle for the National Reserve. Stops:- Isthmus (10 min): panoramic views.

US$ 80 for the whole group, up to four people, with a private vehicle and a guide. Split four ways that's US$ 20 each. The SERNANP entrance fee (S/ 11 adult, S/ 3 child) and food aren't included.
The vehicle is yours alone, you choose the departure time, and you decide how long to spend at each stop. On the group tour the schedule is fixed and the pace is set by everyone else. The private tour also includes the Turritelas, which the group tour skips.
At La Mina Beach, yes: it is a protected bay with calm waters, and that is where almost everyone goes into the water. Playa Roja and Lagunilla are not recommended due to the currents and the nature of the seabed. Bring swimwear and a towel if your tour includes La Mina.
Playa Roja is the most photographed: the reddish sand comes from an eroded volcanic hill and contrasts sharply with the blue water. La Mina is the most pleasant place to spend some time, and Lagunilla is the quietest. If you only visit one, make it Playa Roja.

Yes, by paying the SERNANP entrance fee at the checkpoint. Keep in mind that several sections consist of unpaved, compacted-earth roads, and there are no gas stations, shops, or reliable cell service inside. If you aren't familiar with the routes, a guided tour saves you from getting lost and provides explanations of what you are seeing.
In Lagunilla, there is a handful of simple seafood restaurants where most tours stop. There are no facilities anywhere else in the Reserve. Bring plenty of water: the air is dry, and thirst sets in late.
It’s spotty. There is coverage around the Isthmus area and near the main road, but it tends to drop out at the beaches. Download your maps before heading in, and if you’re going on your own, let someone know your plans.
By vehicle with a guide if you are traveling with children or seniors, or if you want an explanation at each stop. By mini-buggy if you want to drive yourself—following a guide—and reach Playa Roja at sunset. By scooter if you want six hours of total freedom and more stops at your own pace.
